What glue sticks to Rubbermaid containers? I'm trying to glue something to a Rubbermaid (the inside) container, and can't find any type of glue that sticks to it. The surface is very smooth/slick, and probably made to prevent things from sticking on purpose. There must be some kind of glue that'll work - any ideas? Glues that have failed so far are: Epoxy, superglue, white glue, model glue, silicone, and hot glue-gun. It all just easily peels right off. I'd appreciate any help with the, thank you for any ideas.
Can you hot glue Popsicle sticks together to form a stable structure? For a science project I need to build lever bopper aka that thing in cartoons which has a boxing glove on a thing that looks like this XXX. I got a Stanley GR10 hot glue gun and I forgot where I bought it two years ago...So, I have to bring it to school Thursday and I need more glue sticks. Where can I buy the glue sticks? Does anybody besides me make art out of hot glue sticks? I have been making things out of hot glue stick for years. Horses (out of glue..lol), jellyfish, flowers, monsters, if you need a vase I can make you one that won't break, but will look like stained glass. They are, for the most part, tranparent and hollow. I made an Ostrich who (Louis), is 3/1/2 feet tall. He lives in my garden after retiring from the library circuit, touring.. The is a terrific artistic medium for so many reasons, including a glue stick cost 5 cents. Louis is made out of 676 sticks, about $40.00 and he has been sold for $200.00. Then the Patron gave him back to me! I sell alot but would like to make a book and then just make the Sculptures when I feel the muse. But at the same time I am aching to share this idea with others for sharing ideas and such. How do I go about making my artistic dreams come true. PS They like indoors/outdoors/no car dashboards! Yikes!
What are some tricks to building a bridge composed of popsicle sticks and glue? My physics teacher had us make a vehicle powered by a mousetrap for our last project and after we did them he told us the key was to have an extended arm so the semicircle the mousetrap's arm traveled was larger and the rearwheels should be big but have a small axle such as a record so you get more distance per revolution. Now our project is to build a bridge made of popsicle sticks and glue only, if anyone has any tips on what to do, id appriciate it. thanks!
my kid eats playdoh and glue sticks? I'm a SAHM and I watch my kid like a hawk. She's 3 and a half and she loves to eat glue stick and playdoh. She will hide and try to eat some and I immediately take it out of her mouth. I'm wondering if I should contact her doctor about it. She adores arts and crafts and it would be a shame not to be able to play them anymore but I just might have to. Any ideas? My kid isn't retarded. Thanks a lot.
Does 50 glue sticks sound like alot for a kindergartener? My son is starting school Friday and on the supply list it says to purchase 50 elmers glue sticks. I called the school and they said thats correct, but for all 15 kids in his class to bring 50 each just sounds crazy to me. At the parent/ teacher meeting over the summer, she said they would use a glue stick a week, but they dont go to school for 50 weeks. Has anyone else had to purchase a crazy number of items for school? Or is this teacher just glue crazy? I feel sorry for him on the first day having to carry all those in his bookbag, it'll look silly. She told all the parents that she will be putting all the pencils and items like that in a big bag, and when one student need a penicil they just get one out of the bag, so no fun pencils ( ones other than the plain ugly yellow ones). I have already bought the sticks, but everyone that I have told says theyve never heard of so many. I'm starting not to like this school and he hasnt even started!!
any advice on moulding hot melt glue sticks? I am an artist making things that require custom tinted hot melt glue sticks. I can sucessfully tint the melted glue, but I am having a hard time "remoulding" the tinted, melted glue. The glue that I am melting is a special ,extra sticky glue for wood. I have a process that works but is very long and involved I am trying to remake a glue stick, now tinted, for use in a standard vari-temp glue gun. The glue stick is 7/16 inch diameter. Touching it with your hands is not a options: it is hot and very sticky. I am also concerned about mould relaeases degrading the adhision of the glue.

Can you take purell or a glue stick on an airplane? Can you take purell or a glue stick on an international flight? If so, do they need any special packaging? Do you mean all the liquids I take have to add up to no more than 3 oz. or just each individual liquid container must hold no more than 3 oz?
Will wood glue stick to plastic cling wrap? I'm trying to find a way to make a table top I'm gluing together not stick to the boards I'm supporting it with. If I wrap the supporting boards with cling wrap will the wood glue that drips out stick to the the cling wrap? I'm using elmers wood glue if that makes a difference. Thanks!
How do I loosen the glued on sticks? I just got this coffee table that has a design on top that consists of bamboo like sticks glued on. Many of the sticks started to come loose and I just ended up removing them with the plan of just staining the table. Anyhow, there are a few sticks that are really hard to get off. Is there a clever trick to loosen the glue underneath to make them come off easier?
what would happen if I used an elmers glue stick to hang a poster on a wall? So I cut out airplane pictures from a calendar for my son's room. We hung them with tape, but the propellers and wings are rather narrow and tape cannot be easily hidden on the back of the paper. What if I used a glue stick? Would it come off later? Would the glue just wipe off or would it be a problem? We just painted with Behr Sateen Luster paint.
How do I undry my glue stick? My glue stick is dried up. Is there any way I can undry it (like by wetting it or putting it in the heat for it to melt) so I can use it again?
Ross brand glue sticks? Anyone out there know retailers that sell the Ross brand of glue sticks? I'm also on the lookout for anyone who has great luck with a certain brand of gluestick. Elmer's Washable School Glue Stick (purple) has become my least favorite. :-) I have found the "official website" for the Ross brand but it doesn't give me a list of retailers. Discount School Supply and Lakeshore does not carry these. Bummer... I do yearly order with them. :-)
