Is hot-melt glue/silicone toxic if used inside your mouth? I have braces, and my orthodontist left a really long metal wire in--that I know is not supposed to be that long. Normally, I would just go to the office and have them fix it, but I'm leaving on a trip in a couple days, and I won't be able to go in. I've tried wax, but it does no good. So, I ask again, does hot-melt glue have any side effects or toxins that I should be aware of? Thanks!
How hot does it take for hot glue to melt? I was just wondering how hot it takes for hot glue to melt and if it will melt in a car on a hot day. I don't have a specific example what it will be used for. I'm just curious.
any advice on moulding hot melt glue sticks? I am an artist making things that require custom tinted hot melt glue sticks. I can sucessfully tint the melted glue, but I am having a hard time "remoulding" the tinted, melted glue. The glue that I am melting is a special ,extra sticky glue for wood. I have a process that works but is very long and involved I am trying to remake a glue stick, now tinted, for use in a standard vari-temp glue gun. The glue stick is 7/16 inch diameter. Touching it with your hands is not a options: it is hot and very sticky. I am also concerned about mould relaeases degrading the adhision of the glue.
will a hot glue gun melt plastic? im buying a brushless setup for my rc car but need to glue it to the chassis. will hot glue melt it? oh sorry i need to glue down the on/off switch of the ESC.
people who built popsicle stick bridges- hot melt glue guns okay? the rules are any glue max 200 sticks max 80% each popsicle stick covered, so 20% must be exposed no cutting no laminiating must span the 85cm gap must be atleast 6cm wide weigh will be placed in the center, a bar will go through the center, then a hook will be placed on the bar where it will hold a bucket where the weights will be placed my idea is an arch design so i made a prototype bridge to get the idea of what im doing. i used hot glue and realized hot glue guns have really strong fitting , however ive never used other strong glues before like caprentors glue or epoxy the GOAL IS TO HOLD 100 pounds. (100 pounds = 100% mark, 85 pounds is 85% mark, etc) are hot melt glue guns a good choice for building a bridge? this si for grade 12 physics not some middle school bs lol
will hot glue melt in the dryer? ok i have a gown that needs to be washed but my mom says i can't wash it cause it has these tassels hanging off it that were to long so she cut the rope shorter and hot glued the tassels back on and she say's when you put it in the dryer the glue will melt and stick to everything but i think it wont? and also do you think it will melt in the washing machine?
Will the heat from a hairdryer melt 'hot glue'? Well I am doing the art project where you put crayons on a canvas and melt them. (hairdryers work awesome for melting crayons btw.) anyhow, so i had been thinking of a way i could attach the crayons to the canvas and then it hit me: I could use hot glue!!! but then, like an hour later i got hit with the realization that the hairdryer MIGHT re-melt the hot glue when i went to melt the crayons...so now im at a halt on my project. does anyone know if the heat from the hairdryer WILL ACTUALLY melt hotglue? and if it does re-melt the glue, do you know of a better way to attach the crayons to the canvas??
Will hot glue re-melt in a bearded dragon's enclosure? I just broke a big ornament and want to glue it back together. Can hot glue withstand the high temps in a beardie's cage? Or will it melt in the cage? I know you can use aquarium sealant, but it takes forever to dry. Plus if I can use what I already have at home rather than buy a tube of sealnt that isn't going to get used, that's always a bonus. I know it's only 7 bucks but every dollar counts for a broke college student. :) If hot glue isn't safe though, I'll get some sealant...he is pretty fond of his hammock and his giant log. :)
Would Hot glue melt an Action Figure? I bought a box full of Harry potter stuff, and one of the action figures arm is broken off. I was just wondering if it would melt it or if it would be safe to use it. Thanks! Well, thank you sir, for expressing your opion, But That is not what I asked for. I was asking about hot glue and plastic. I do not care if you do not like Harry Potter, for the Action figures alone have made more money that most make in their intire life, not including, the movie, books, and other merchindise. I am Christain and I do not believe in witchcraft, but even Christain children are raised on Magic stories, thanks to Disney. So please keep in mind if your answering a question, to actually answer it and not add some little smart comment. Thanks! (:

Is the glue from hot glue guns safe to ingest? To make the story short, I have a gigantic tea cup (It's supposed to be for a plant, and at the bottom theres a little hole for the water to leak out) Well, I want to actually be able to drink from this cup, just to be funny. But I don't want the liquid to drip out the bottom. If I used a glue gun to close the hole, and fill it with hot tea or something - will it melt the glue? And if so - Will it be safe if I were to ingest some of it? 10 points.
Removing hot glue from a jacket? How would I remove hot crafting glue (already dried) from a jersey/sweatshirt type jacket? I thought of using acetone, but is that the right thing to do? I'm afraid if I use an iron with a towel or other similar technique, it will melt the glue further into the fabric since it's hot glue and not regular glue. Thanks for any advice!
How do I remove hardened hot glue from a finished metal surface? Used hot glue over two years ago to attach silks and Styrofoam to an oval aluminum tray. I do not wish to further harm the surface of the tray, as I will use it for other decorating purposes. I've tried Goo Gone, paint thinner and acetone; the last one started to eat at the finish. Have considered trying a hair dryer to melt the glue...

I need help with a problem involving hot glue and super sculpey polymer clay? I have created a generic ornament piece using sculpey. I created this piece and then made a 2-piece mold of it using silicone caulk like you buy at walmart. Next, I injected hot melt glue into the silicone mold, put the mold together and out came my solid, hot melt piece i needed. Ok, great. NOW, here is the part i need help with. I want to sculpt new details onto this hot melt casting using super sculpey. It sculpts onto the stuff great. The only problem is that when i put the piece into my makeshift oven (cardboard box covered on the inside with tin foil with a hair dryer fed into the side), the sculpey cures, BUT the hot melt glue melts. The curing temp of sculpey is 275 degrees F. Hot melt glue is only like 135 deg. F. So, therein lies the problem. Can anyone think of a solution for my problem? I've thought about using air-drying clay, but i bought some today and it sucks bad. Well, it is the crayola brand stuff so i wasnt expecting much. Are there any decent air drying polymer clays out there that are about like super sculpey? I need fine details. Please help! Thanks!
Are Hot Glue Gun Glue Sticks Non-Toxic? I am about to build a playground out of popsicle sticks for my pet mice - it wouldn't be something that would stay in their cage - it would be for them to play on when I take them out of the cage. I want to use a hot glue gun because the glue is instant - bonds very well to wood and has no odour. Is it non-toxic though? The package doesn't say either way - it just says it's acid free and a must for crafter tool set. Are hot melt glue sticks generally non-toxic? They have no smell and I remember kids back whe I was a kid that would chew on them - and they didn't get sick.

Where can I find a hot glue machine like the one described below? I'm looking for a hot glue machine like the one I used years ago while working at a bookbinding company. It was small, electric and portable and could be used on a table top. It had a long tray for the glue and water mixture - about 12" long if I remember correctly. The heat from the tray melted the glue. It had a set of rollers that sat on top of the tray. The rollers were coated with the glue and you fed paper/vinyl or whatever needed to be coated thru the rollers. You would catch it on the other side.
(repost* please help!) hot glue okay to make a bong? alright, so, I'm making a lung bong. for those of you who don't know exactly what that is, its not that same as a regular bong: https://encrypted-tbn1.google.com/images… anyways, I carved out a circle in the middle of the cap and put aluminum foil on it and poked holes in it to put the herb on to smoke, but on the edges of the cap where the foil comes down & wraps around, I used hot glue to secure it & make sure it stays in place. is that okay? I don't think that part will get hot or give off fumes, but I just want someone else's opinion to make sure. I can take a picture and upload it if anyone is confused by what I just asked. & sorry if this is in the wrong category. ps could the hot glue melt?

Glue for two-piece composite hockey stick? The hot melt glue in craft glue guns won't cut it, because it dries too soft. I need something that does well in cold temperatures for outdoor and indoor hockey. Hopefully it isn't super expensive, but does a great job of bonding the stick to the blade. I haven't been too impressed with the stuff that comes on the blade, as it seems to wear out fairly quickly. What I should be looking for? Can I find it at a hardware store?

Is it possible for the glue from the tanning sticker to "melt" onto my skin? I've been tanning for about to weeks and I've noticed that where I put my tanning sticker it turns a pinkish color but then it goes away after about a day. I've tanned wth stickers before and it never did that. Is it possible that the adhesive from the sticker is possibly getting to hot and melting onto my skin or could I be allergic to it. It hasn't ever done that before tho.

What glue should I use to adhere real candy corn to construction paper? We are making a turkey on construction paper. We are using different color candy corn for the feathers. We glued down all the candy corn feathers and now five hours later, the candy corns are starting to ooze. It seems Elmer's Glue All was not the right choice. The candy corn is melting. I wonder if hot glue might be better because it dries faster? Or Crazy Glue?

Hot gluing electrical wires? Alright, before you say "it won't work," here's what I want to do. I'm making a little light and ripped a tiny push button switch off an old clock. It works fine for what I want, but I don't have a soldering iron, and don't want to buy one either. Could I hot glue the wires and switch to a small plastic square? There will only be 6V DC running through the wires and that shouldn't be hot enough to melt the glue right? (Just lay the wires down, put a tiny drop of hot glue down, then press the switch leads into the wires? The leads are about 3mm long) Alright, I mean this switch is tiny, about the size of a normal pencil eraser, and the leads coming off it are about twice as thick as a quarter.

My TV making this high pitched Noise. I need it Repaired!!? I asked the question as to what this might be and got the below answer. "Often caused by a coil in the deflection cct vibrating caused by varnish in windings going off, can be fixed by applying hot melt glue to coil , coil looks like a bobbin of copper wire and stands about 1 to 1.5 ins high. Could also be flyback transformer itself though these days they are built not vibrate mechanically. Young people and animals can hear the noise better than an older person, sometime older people can not hear it at all, the noise or whistle is at 15.625kHz which is why old folks ( like me ) can not hear it all , therefore if you wait long enough you will cease to hear it as well !!Oh well nuff said . Good luck and cheers, Pete Note ! An arcing eht transformer is a safety issue ( fire risk ) and the high volts applied to pic tube is DC." Can I get someone to come to my house and fix this?? Thanks Michael.
