How do you remove super glue from wood?
I accidentally spilled a bottle of super glue onto my kitchen table when I was repairing a flash drive. I tried to get it off with a Wipe-all within about two seconds, but spread it out a little further. How do I get it off without ruining the finish? I'm pretty sure acetone will destroy the finish, so I'm not going to try it. If someone could help me out, that would be great!

- Try using Windex on it with a paper towel! (the stuff you use to clean your mirror!)
- depends on the finish of the wood. paint thinners will get the glue off, just dab a bit of thinners on a clean cloth and make circles like you are polishing. DON"T rush it!. BUT BE CAREFUL if the wood is antique mahogany or something do be careful as thinners could remove the finish. If you can find some wax polish around that would be good. some more info on the wood/finish would be good.
- ~Go to your local hardware store and buy a product called GOOF-OFF. It is a liquid, and it will not ruin your table's finish. Apply a good amount of it, and let it set for a minute, then take a plastic putty knife, and whisk all the junk off the table. Don't try using a towel or cloth, because that could just complicate things! After you get it cleaned off, you could probably use some windex or something to clean up the remaining residue. (Works for me!)
- I have a table in the shop now that the owner tried to wipe of some suspected magic marker with Goof-Off. It ate clear through the finish. Conclusion : it's not safe for all finishes. I think you are pretty well consigned to stripping and refinishing the top.
