What kind of glue should I use to fix broken glass in a lamp? It's right above the bulb and gets very hot.
It's a desk lamp with a 25 watt halogen bulb--the glass dome above the bulb has broken into three pieces. It gets too hot to touch--I want to make sure the glue doesn't melt, give off toxic fumes, etc. Thanks for any recommendations!

- I would probably look at a two part epoxy. You should be able to pick it up in any hardware store or a Walmart or store like that. I would probably get epoxy that dries clear. Read it before you buy and make sure it will do what you want.
- Seriously, super glue. Epoxy glues are no good with heat. We use heat to soften expoxies when it has to be removed.
- I used 2 part epoxy glue to fix a saucepan with a hole in the bottom.....It has now been in use for two years since the repair.
