What else can be used for crafts besides glue guns?

I am looking for suggestions on what else I can use for arts/crafts besides a glue gun? I honestly don't care for them as they as very messy, not to mention hot! Also, I have rather large hands for a woman so using a glue gun with small pieces makes for an aggravating experience. I would appreciate any less messy suggestions. Thanks to all!

1. Depends on what you are gluing , there is craft glue for fabric, also for different crafts. If you have a Hobbie Lobby in your area they have a great Selection . you can also check their on line store.
2. Hi! Have you ever tried Tacky Glue? It is a thick white Elmer's type glue that holds items in place very well. I don't use hot glue often, but I got a hot glue pot several years ago that is better than the glue guns. It's called a "Gluemaster" hot glue pot. There's one on ebay now!
3. I do like Aleene's Ultimate.It is a step up from Tacky glue.
