Kitten's and super glue?

I'm on work experience at the vets and a woman brought a kitten in that had gotten stuck on a rat trap! We need to know how to get the super glue off the kitten! it is sedated (knocked out) and it has super glue on its body and round its eyes and it also has a few cuts were it was strugling to get free!! the kitten is a stray and will be going back to its mother and siblings once we are done!! Thanks for looking and helping! please bear in mind that this is unusal and the kitten has the glue right beside its eyes!! The kitten doesn't have an owner so the treatment would have to be immediate because there is no owner to continue it!! I don't work at the vets i am here on work experience i am only 15 years old!!! we wantted to know how to remove super glue!!! plus i didn't give anyone a negative score i don't know how to!!! I need more people to answer this because the kitten is still sticky! it's in a kennel and it's head keeps sticking to the walls of the kennel, it's feet and it's blanket it is wrapped in!!! PLEASE get people to answer this quetsion!!!

Serious answer: vegetable oil. Serious-er answer: Do all veterinarian offices get their advice from Yahoo! Answers? *Edit* I'm serious about the vegetable oil. I've had to get cats and birds unstuck from flytraps the same way. It's the best way to go. If you leave it there and keep applying it from time to time, it will create a layer of slick goodness between the flesh and the glue. I don't know why the negative vote, but this is for real. Also.. the second point stands. If you work at a vet's, then why do you need to look here for the answer?
You may just have to cut the kitties fur...assuming he has fur of course. Everything I know that removes super glue is a harsh chemical. If it was a rat trap, it probably wasn't super glue, though. You might want to try an oil: baby oil, olive oil, etc. to see. We used the glue rat traps once and that took the glue off pretty well. Good luck- keep us posted.
I have searched the net and found this to be the best site, it gives you step by step instructions as well as what is needed. Good luck, I have 5 cats and would be distraught. Hope the cat makes it okay. X
well what i can say use lots of sop and keep cleaning and there is one more thing well its worth a try use car gas and that will get the stickiness off and then wash the cat that's the best way that glue is like the glue on the car city sticker's
I'm not to sure I understand the question, but maybe you could just get an electric shaver and trim off the cats fur with the glue on it. If not, there's a product you could buy for a few bucks called Bondini Brush-On Remover Gel. try the hardware store or something. Usually SuperGlue will only come off with Spirit based Cleaners, things like Metho, Thinners, Acetone.....good luck because I'm not sure you should be putting those things on a Kitten anywhere, let alone close to it's eyes. Maybe ring the number that is on the Superglue tubes, they have ideas about how to get it off usually.....
