Gluesticks

Any way to keep "super glue" from drying in tip of its tube?

I have never used an entire "tube" of super glue. I save the extra glue, but can't use it as the plastic applicator tip has dried glue blocking it. If I cut the tip, then it is really messy spreading the glue. Any suggestions for closing the tube of glue without glue drying in the tip?

  1. use a glass tipped sewing pin, the kind used for quilting.
  2. For the really small tips, you can stick a sewing pin inside and leave it there till you need to use it again.
  3. use the thumbtack piece that usually comes w/ the glue, once glue hits air, it will dry hard. Or use a thumbtack of your own, or saran wrap. Prevent oxidation, and prevent dried messes XD Good luck!
  4. insert a straight pen and remove it only when you are using the glue
  5. i dont always have luck with this but when i am done i stand it up in a cup or something till i need it again...sometimes it works...
  6. I have no clue. I heard if you put a small dab of vasaline or baby oil it may help. I never tried it..GOOD LUCK! Good question too..
  7. i use a nail with a flat tip.. it has the perfect tip to pull it back out again.
  8. How about putting a push pin in the end instead of the top back on it.
  9. Send me your address and I will send U a buck. Get three new tubes of super glue from a dollar store. Life is too short and if U are that cheap-o pick a new church or shrink. . Oh, if u really care, try a drop of cooking oil on the cap before U replace it.
