How do you get hot glue off of wood?
I put some lights on my deck for christmas with a hot glue gun. One problem I can get the glue off.

- How did you glue lights on without melting the cord? Use a metal putty knife or a razor to scrape off the glue.
- okay, at first glance I thaught "someone needs to flag this guy" because thats sick! but then I realized when I clicked on the topic anyway, out of utter sickness on my part to read the real problem. Scrape with putty knife and repaint. Thats all you can do.
- The glue has to be heated to melting temperture before it will separate. A heat gun will accomplish this but will probably damage the electrical cord and char the surface. Try scraping with a putty knife. Some repairs will have to be made regardless of the method.
- try goo gone, (available at local hardware store) but its flammable so be-careful you're not smoking when you use it
