How to remove super glue from a car seat?
Hey everyone some super glue accidentally spilled on my car seat awhile back and I'm looking for a way to remove it from a car seat without damaging the seat its self? Here is a pic if that helps. http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/3458/glue.jpg Thanks -Don

- hate to break it to you... but that stuff is perminant. you could try to scratch at it with a razor blade, but you'll probly end up with more cloth than glue.
- It is not possible. Your best bet is going to be getting a new seat cover.
- scrubbing bubles a razor (from a hobbie knife) and a scrub brush that you would use for bath tubs the scrubbing bubles would lift up most of the super glue and wont harm the seat the brush would pull alot of it out wht the scrubbing bubles and the razor to lightly go over it to get the exess off.
- If polyester or plastic (naugahyde), learn to like it! If non artificial fabric, you can remove it With MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) found in paint stores! This will dissolve just about anything made out of polymer material! MEK will literally dissolve super glue, so that you can daub it up with a paper towel or napkin. Check somewhere that is not normally visible, -- it could also discolor dye in fabric... Otherwise I guess you are stuck with it (mek may be component used in teh sujper glue),-- because it bonds and penetrates polymer materials, (so it has already damaged the stuff now)! Possibly you can look under seats, and find a small piece you can cut off where it is attached so You can get it totally away form car to check results of applying the mek! Caution it will "eat" dashboard, and paint if it gets on there too, --- sooooo be very careful with it!
- hmmmmm I hate to break it to you The Don But I think you need a new car seat >_> unless you cut it out and patch it with the same kind of material
