Will a hot glue gun glue metal to plastic?

I'm trying to glue a dice to a metal stud to make an earing with a hot glue gun. Will this work?

  1. Glue from most glue guns glue anything to anything. It is one of the best types of glue around; the only disadvantage is that it is hot and can burn your fingers.
  2. If it doesn't melt the plastic, it might work. Once it's dry and cured (after about a week, just to be sure) check for brittleness by dropping it or sharply rapping it on the table once or twice. If it's good, go for it. As to its being hot and hard to handle, use pliers to hang onto the earstud. If the glue does turn brittle when dry, get Crafters' Goop or Household Goop. These are room-temoerature glues that dry very slightly flexible (won't become brittle) and can be purchased at hardware or crafts supplies stores.
  3. depends on the plastic, that could melt, also if you're gluing to flat surfaces they are easier to break apart if fiddled with
  4. Epoxy would work better.
