will the glue melt my project?
for my 23rd birthday im getting a big cupcake tree but im going to make it myself cuz i hate the instability of the cardboard ones and the metal ones are expensive and not what im looking for. i am going to build my own and since my colors are hot pink and black i found these large plastic tumblers and plates that are the exact color i need but im afraid the hot glue gun will melt the plastic...will that happen? if i get dishwasher or microwave safe plate will that melt?

- It probably will not melt. What you should do is put a small amount on first, then gradually add more....If you let the glue cool and gradually add more it will not be as hot, yet able to adhere to the material
- It shouldn't melt the plastic, try a little first or use household glue like UHU
- There is a new glue out on the market called Liquid Fusion. It is great and will work on what you are using. I wouldn't put your final project through the dishwasher though. Try wiping it down with a damp cloth instead.
- I have a glue gun that uses both hot glue sticks and ones called "cool melt" glue sticks. The cool melt sticks work fine on plastic without melting it.
