Gluesticks

how do i patch a hole in my pool around the spot where you pump in air (around a circle)?

i have a easy set pool. it is made of like plastic or rubber. the top part of it where you pump in air has a hole in it. the hole is by the spot where you pump in the air. it looks like the seal has let go around the the spot where you pump in the air. so i basically have to patch around the circe. i don"t know if there are any patches for this type of patch. do you think i could use a hot glue gun or do you think it would melt through the plastic? the plastic is kinda thick but it is still pretty thin. or could i use silicone? do you think that would work. thanks for the advice if you have any ideas let me know!

  1. Definitely go with silicone. But I would go with Aquarium type because its made to be submerged under water. Lower the water level below the hole. Make sure it is clean. Ruff up surface lightly with extra fine sand paper. Apply a thin layer. Allow to dry for 1-2 days. Get some wall patching mesh. Cut out mesh to match shape of hole. Apply mesh to interior and exterior of spot where you glued already. Stick mesh to this spot then apply another layer of silicone on top of the mesh. This mesh will reinforce the glue (and act like re-bar which is used inside cement). You may want to apply a third coat but this could take up to a week to allow for drying.
