How much voltage can i give my glue gun?

Hi i have a staples mini glue gun that i bought in the US and is designed for 110V. Would something really bad happen if i plug it into a 220V socket or should I have a converter?

1. Hi Guess Who. If you plug your glue gun into 220Volts, it will work really fast for maybe one minute before the heating element burns out, not a good idea. Onetime I wired up a fan to a wrong circuit breaker, 208 volts not 110 volts. The fan ran fine for several minutes then burst into flame. You should use a converter. Wingman
