Warhammer 40k 'how to remove super glue from plastic models' ?
I have a Carnifex [Tyranids] who I'd like to disassemble and remove the crushing claws I put on him. I want to give him a barbed strangler and make him into a boom fex. But he he is already all glued together with super glue and he is a plastic model. What is the easiest way of removing the crushing claws which are glued on pretty tight?...Any tips? ideas?

- There are products on the market that are designed to dissolve or soften superglue bonds, but I can't testify to their effect on styrene plastic models. The best answer is: carefully. Using a modelling scalpel, it should be possible to weaken the bond enough to remove the arms. The problem with the carnifex, of course, is that the arm sockets are spherical, making the bond both particularly strong and particularly difficult to get at with a scalpel. The other option (that would probably be my personal choice) would be simply to saw the existing arms off as close to the joint as possible. Cut off the new arms at the same point. Drill holes into each side of the new joint and glue a piece of wire (a paperclip will do) to join and strengthen the new joint.
