What if I stick the tag back with sticky tape/super glue?

If you want to exchange an item you purchased, the tags must still be attached to the clothing but what if i cut them off and then realised it was the wrong size? I bought a belt without checking - I know right, silly me. I cut off the plastic tag but what if i stick the tag back with sticky tape/super glue, do you rekon they will allow me to exchange it for a smaller size?

1. It would probably be better if you didn't try to reattach it. Just take the tag and explain what happened. They probably have the equipment to put on a new tag.
