bonding oak wood pieces to larger wood ornament. use adhesive that came with it, or use wood or super glue?

The smaller oak wood pieces are backed with 3M 200MP Adhesive. I am going to be covering the entire oak ornament with a gloss varnish once finished. Would it be smarter to use wood or superglue or to just trust the adhesive?

1. For bonding wood to wood, you should use wood glue. The bond will be stronger than the wood itself.
