Is there any way to remove carpet pad glue from tile grout without using horribly stinky chemicals?

I took up some old wall-to-wall carpeting because I knew there was some really nice tile beneath it, but the glue they used to hold down the carpet pad is stuck in the tile grout and looks terrible. The only glue remover I have found is a chemical that burns my eyes and throat.
