Gluesticks

Would it be safe to use medical super glue to seal a cut on my eyelid?

I've read about people using medical super glue to seal cuts, but would it be safe to do it on the eyelid? Or is that too dangerous?

  1. Personally unless your a Professional or have a Doctor friend, I wouldn't try it. You may get it directly in your eye. The eye may end up with some under the lid which would cause painful irritation. It's just not worth it. How big or deep is the cut? If not very then leave it alone.
  2. OK, first of all DO NOT use super glue on your face. There are dermal adhesives that are used in the medical profession that may be used to seal a minor cut when used by a medical professional. You should not however, attempt to do this on your own with any substance you may have around the house. Any injury to or around the eye should always be evaluated by a medical professional, particularly if you value your sight. A tiny bit of vaseline is the only acceptable home remedy and has been used in boxing for decades.
  3. I don't know, but *don't* try anything yourself. Ask a professional to be safe.
  4. NO!! Super Glue should never be used on any part of the body except perhaps to keep a fingernail from tearing any further until it has grown out enough to safely clip it back and go on from there. You already have some excellent advice from those who have answered your question prior to mine, so I'll leave it at that.
