Why are glue sticks circular?
Why aren't mainstream glue sticks square or triangular to glue the edges well?

- it's hard to TWIST the glue out of any shape container that isn't ROUND. (use your fingers, a Qtip or a toothpick to spread it to the edges.)
- Glue needs to twist out to use it- you can't twist out a square glue stick
- Deoderant sticks aren't round! :D Because most things that you glue are square, so you need to use more glue by going over it and over it and over it again!! You use more so you buy more! :D
- I have both rectangle and oval glue sticks. Try a scrapbook store for more variety.
- First of all, the glue inside would be a little harder to twist out of the container -- corners drag ont he edges of the stick when it's coming out. Also, it's still hard to spread the glue to the exact corner of pages. I mean like, what if the stuff you're gluing doesn't have sharp corners or is a picture/design? When you spread glue with a glue stick the shape of a polygon, the corners will get squished or smudged -- not much point to make many square ones when they will end up sort of round. Many globs of glue will smear onto the paper too if you are not careful. In the end, whatever shape you choose, as long as you can use it, there isn't much of a big deal.
