possible to remove the super glue completely?

i don't know how it got there but there was some thick, super glue on my car (outside). it looked like someone squeezed the glue out of a tube or something. i tried to wipe it off with paper but then i couldn't remove it completely. i tried to wash off with water but didn't work. and now there's a thin layer of glue on the car which doesn't look so good. is there any way i can wipe it off clean?

1. Fingernail polish remover will remove it but it might ruin your paint. The sunlight makes it come off too.
