Gluesticks

How do you get super glue off of a car?

I recently bought a new-used car and the genius who owned it before me super-glued one of those black "Carflector" things to the front of the car. It's extremely ugly and cracked and I want to take it off, but I don't know how to take it off without ruining the paint. Is there anything I can put on it that will dissolve the glue without ruining the paint so I can easily take it off?

  1. alcohol...heat gun.... also i think they sell some specific stuff for that..check a parts store..
  2. == take it to a body shop and get some pro help === you cannot fix this without pro products or maybe the blem will need to be repainted .... nothing will dissolve that glue that you can buy at the hardware store ....... go and get a bid -- it is probably less than you think... and if you use a good shop you can schedule it in and out the same day and they will take you to work ......
  3. Kinda a long shot.... The Superglue people specify acetone for removing their product, but that is not likely to be kind to the paint. You can try acetone on an inconspicuous spot; if it dulls the paint you should not try it where you care how it looks.
