Gluesticks

What is the best permatex or loctite for remounting a head lamp lens back into the housing on an automobile?

The car wash hit our van extra hard on our old caravan and the lens is open at the bottom and the bulbs don't stand a chance to the weather elements. I've looked around on the permatex site but for something like this where else do you go but here ... plus there 800 # is down at night. Loctite is another option. My thought is it's got to be thick enough to make a seal all the way around versus super glue which is hard to use, doesn't stay where you put it and won't make a decent seal imo. What color permatex would be go for plastic on plastic application? .. or Loctite Thanks all who apply.

  1. try some stuff called goop it is a silicone based auto adhesive
  2. Blue Permatex will set up and stay flexible without any heat. I suggest buying a headlight housing from a wrecking yard for 10 bucks, because it will eventually leak again. Good luck
  3. Forget about the patch job. Waste of time and money. Go to a junk yard and find a replacement.
