Gluesticks

i have old hot glue that has hardened inside of my glue gun. How do I get it to come out?

this is from a while ago upon last trying to use it. I had bought glue sticks that were too small for it and try force melting them through it. I wish to use it again but the glue's all congealed through the shaft of the glue gun.

1. Heat it up again and use a pencil or knife to push the harder stuff through once it is warmer and slightly melted.
2. turn it on to pre heat then feed a good stick of glue until all the old glue is flushed out.
3. I would heat it back up and use a paper clip or something to pull in out or push it through
4. Okay first of all you are supposed to clean it after every use.If you did that you wouldn't be having this dilema.Run it under some hot water first,then take a straightened paperclip and try to push the dried glue out with that.Good luck.
