Gluesticks

question about vaginal discharge. PLEASE HELP!!?

i started my perid yesterday but today when i took out my tampon i had a lot of clear and really really thick discharge. its thick like melted glue out of a hot glue gun. it doesnt smell or anything. does anyone know if discharge this thick is normal? i have never had discharge this thick before and its really sticky. i am also on the pill (loseasonique) so i cant be ovulating. can i?

1. That's perfectly normal. It's likely just natural secretions produced around ovulation near the cervix - creamy and milky before, and sort of snot-like and sticky afterwards. It provides a warm cushion for sperm to travel to when they're makin' their journey to the egg. The reason it's drier post-ovulation (or, when I was on the pill, all the dang time) was because the decrease in estrogen makes the vagina a bit drier. That or - for fear of sounding gauche - it might be... *ahem* leftovers if you were sexually aroused at a previous time. However, you're a better judge than myself on how valid that second option is.
