My Chihuahua got super glue on his skin, how do i get it off!?
My Chihuahua is always getting into trouble and this time he got super glue on his skin. Its small though, about the size of a chocolate chip? I tried washing it off and it just made it worse.. his skin tore up a little and is red, its not bleeding but it looks raw. His hair is soo short because i just had him shaved today so i cant cut it out. PLEASE help i dont know what to do and i cant take him to the vet until tomorrow Sorry i over-reacted i just freaked when i saw blood. But I shaved him because he is longhaired and its +100 outside where i live

- Oh god I just burstedout laughing
- Try warm water
- Vasline on it which will cause it to mix with the alcohol and break up or try salt water but just keep soaking if it's red becareful as it sounds sore now don't think a vet is in order unless it gets worse as the glue will come off just like human skin
- Try using hot water and dawn dish soap for starters. If that doesn't work try using a little nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol. Try those last as they may irritate the skin more.
- Try to wash it with hot water like the other guy said, you may also try giving him a bath, bath is more effective if your dog likes swimming, of course you might want to use a shampoo from infections just in case, same happened to my poor dog Kooper, (who is a dolmatain (or however you call him))
- The glue will have to stay there until the underlying skin flakes off. That would be about a week. The only thing that dissolves SuperGlue is acetone and that is a known cancer causing agent and can serious harm an animals liver if absorbed through their skin.
- If the skin is already irritated, anything that will actually remove it (like acetone) will sting really bad, so just leave it til it falls off. Your vet will have medical adhesive remover which would work, but would not use that on irritated skin. ******************** bad mistake shaving the dog- the coat protects the dog from the heat as well as the cold. Dogs only have sweat glands on their feet, not on the body. The coat also protects their skin from the sun and, yes, dogs do get skin cancer.
- Get a knife to cut off some of the skin. Alternatively get a blow torch to lightly roast the skin Also you may take it to the local chinese restaurant. This works for cats too
- Leave it alone, it has to wear off. The dog doesn't need to see a vet, geez. Get a grip.
- just give it time to whear off the doggy will be fine stop begin a crazy about it
- Don't worry about it; it will come off on it's own, eventually. Rub a little olive oil on it, rub gently. If nothing else, when the hair grows out you can cut it off. PS Why in the world would you shave a Chihuahua? They can barely stay warm as it is!
- i dont know what to do but to KP and Camran , people who actully care about their pets do tend to freak out and i pity your pets if you actully have any because i would ausume their probly havant eaten for 5 weeks and have ticks crawling all over them
