Help! How do you get dried-out glue (from a hot glue gun) out of carpet?

- put a towel over the glue and iron over the towl. the glue will melt and the towel will soak it up. That works for other things like crayons also. hope that helps.
- I was going to respond with the same answer -- the towel and the iron. Just a side note -- this will also work with candle wax.
- This is one of the standard recipes for removing glue stains.... 1. Scrape and remove excessive stain using a blunt spatula, spoon or bone scraper. Never use a knife because it might harm the fibers. 2. Mix one teaspoon of a mild pH balanced detergent (a mild non alkaline non bleaching detergent) with a cup of lukewarm water. 3. Blot the stain. 4. Mix one tablespoon of household ammonia with a half cup of water. 5. Blot the stain. 6. Mix one teaspoon of a mild pH balanced detergent (a mild non alkaline non bleaching detergent) with a cup of lukewarm water. 7. Blot the stain. 8. Sponge with clean water. 9. Blot the stain. These sites have additional suggestions. I hope this helps.
