How to get super glue off back of cell phone?

I tried putting cute little diamond things on my phone but it didn't work and the super glue is dried on. I have tried to remove it with nail polish remover and rubbing alcohol but neither have worked. Is there any other way to get it off? Best answer = 10 pointossss :] <3 thanks everyone.

  1. hmm...I'm surprised the nail polish remover (Acetone) didn't remove it. Do you happen to have any Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) laying around? That certainly would work. While Acetone is still fresh in our mind, Acetone quickly evaporates which is perhaps the reason it had no affect. Try the nail polish remover again, this time leaving a paper towel over the glue where you want to remove it and keep it "damp" with the nail polish and see if a little "soak" might do the trick. CAUTION: whatever removes the Super Glue from the cell phone is probably going to leave a mark, where the solvent also attacked the body of the cell phone. Other than the nail polish, you might not have anything lying around the house that would be effective but, at most hobby stores they sell a solvent for Cyanoacrylate (Super Glue). One brand name I'm aware of is, Cyberbond Superglue Remover. Loctite has a remover that you might also find at a Hobby Shop or even a large Hardware Store like Home Depot. They (Loctite) even recommend using Nail Polish.... http://www.loctiteproducts.com/questions.asp?answerme=390#cat390 Look at the question... How can I remove super glue from a surface? "Super Glue can be removed from a surface with acetone (nail polish remover), hot water, or Super Glue Remover."
  2. I was also suprised why the nail polish remover did not work. Try to retrieve the packaging of the super glue you bought. Usually it indicates in there precautionary measures or remedies in cases of misuse.
  3. You can get super glue remover at a hardware store. Call around to Home Depot, Lowes etc. first, it may not be at all stores.
  4. File it delicately with a nail filer, starting with rough ending up with the finest, and finish it to polish with a soft microfiber tissue (the one for glasses). Be very careful not to file the surrounding areas ( cover them with scotch tape)
  5. Try nail polish remover or acetone.
