Gluesticks

I need to dissolve super glue! Please help?

I accidentally got super glue on a very expensive, one of a kind wig and I need to dissolve it! I CAN NOT cut it. No matter what, cutting it is not an option. I already tried acetone and nailpolish remover, and it didnt work. I am panicking :( What will dissolve it??

  1. You might try asking the manufacturer or maybe the local E.R.
  2. See if you can find some super glue remover. I bought a small bottle of it years ago. Maybe your local hardware store knows about the product and can help.
  3. You have got a BIG problem. There are two solvents for cyanoacrylate (super) glues. The best is Methylene Chloride but this is very poisonous and gives off a lot of fumes. The next best is Nitromethane, not so poison but still gives off nasty fumes. You can try sponging or brushing with these chemicals IN THE OPEN AIR and with a FACE MASK. However to be honest I do not think you are going to ever be able to remove the mess well enough to use the wig again - sorry.
  4. super glue gets dissolved in most of the ketones. one can try with luke warm water dip it in water for a while either it will fall offf ir its easy to remove since cyanoacrylates have less peel strenght try to peek it not pluck it
