Gluesticks

As we all know glue sticks to everything but why doesnt it stick to the inside of the glue bottle?

  1. It probably reacts with the air, making it sticky. Inside a bottle of glue, the lack of air means it can't react that well.
  2. It doesn't stick to a glue bottle because it is moist inside of the bottle. There is also little oxygen in the bottle. Glues dries upon contact with oxygen, I believe, and so the small amount of oxygen in the bottle keeps it wet and it doesn't stick.
  3. Yep, a mystery of life. Really glue is activate by different agents, like epoxy has two components to mix together to make it harden. Air is also a component that reacts to less stronger glues.
