Gluesticks

What tape should I use for picture mounting / matts?

Hi I have mounted some prints onto card with 3m spray glue, which has worked well. I've then placed a mount on top. The mount doesn't hold so well with the glue, and I wondered if there was a certaint type of tape I could buy to tape all around the backing board attaching it to the mat? (the mount board at the back is smaller than the mat, so I have room for tape) I hope I have made some sense! Thanks

  1. Use Herma tape, or another removable tape, such as this one. http://www.terrycards-shop.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=35&products_id=1105&<osCsid>
  2. Try decorators masking tape there is different widths.you can get it in the likes of B&Q, Wicks, and Homebase to name a few. My wife uses it for the back of her paintings being framed. Hope this helps.
  3. The Stix2 tape bekkiht4's link leads you to is good and there is also a permanent version. For your prints there is an alternative to spray glue made by Letraset called Studio Tac. This takes a bit longer to apply but gives the same even coating and it is less expensive and the larger size 25 sheet pack goes further than a large can of spray. The main advantage though is no fumes.
