Gluesticks

What type of glue should I use to patch a waterproof car cover?

I have some Budge blue water proof car covers. They get ripped fairly easily and I have some of the same material to patch them with. I have tried using 3M spray adhesive which is used on automotive applications (moldings, headliners, etc). I used heavy strength and light. I am thinking about trying gorilla glue next. they make gorilla glue for non-wood applications. duct tape will not work silicone is not glue and will not work
