What is the difference between high and low temperature glue guns?
I need to buy a glue gun for an art project, and I was wondering what the difference is between glue guns that melt glue at high or low temperatures. I need to use glue on garbage bags and plastic bottles and other things, so will using a glue gun on low temp. prevent the plastic stuff from melting?

- The high temp gun, melts the glue at a higher temperature, and burns like mad if you get it on yourself or anything that will melt. Low temp guns andglue dont get as hot. However, some temps are better suited for different projects.
- Hey Steph, The Low-Temp gun heats to 230°F. The higher temps go up to to 400 degrees. Also, the high temp glue guns tend to be adjustable, use bigger glue sticks and be for more industrial usage. If you put a spot of glue on the plastic bottle, then put the bag on it, that should work. If you put the heat on the bag, it will deform and maybe melt right through.
- as indicated the glue guns operate at different temperature levels. if you are gluing together plastic stuff then i suggest that you go for the low temperature glue gun. God bless, gabe
