how do you stop that stringy stuff that glue guns leave behind. PLEASE HELP!!!?
I am into crafts and like the glue gun, but not the stringy stuff. It gets all over me and all over my project. It sucks or sticky I should say.

- the second your done with glue, wipe it against something useless
- Goo Be Gone. It's great.
- when you come to the end of glueing something just press and swipe the tip of the gun on the paper or whatever your'e glueing.
- It's just not possible. Look at it this way. If you used superglue instead, the strings would be gone, but then there would be tiny pieces of your genetically unique fingerprints stuck on everything. And probably more pain. Just saying.
- When you finished gluing what you want, wait till it goes a bit dry, then when you move the gun they'll be no more excess off the gun.
- Well, since the stringy stuff really isn't that hot, when the strigny stuff is released, try catching it with your han before it lands on the project and use a wet paper towel to quickly wipe it off your hand.
- What's happening is as you're gluing your're pulling the glue gun while the glue is still wet. Which some excess will still be attached to the tip and create that string like effect. What you need to do is as you're finished gluing, pull the tip up slightly from the pool of glue, then SWIRL the tip a few quick times. This will break off that sting. That's the way the pro's do it. So it's: Glue, pull up slightly, swirl. Tah-dah! :) Oh, here's another good thing, so you can avoiding burning yourself. Wooden popsicle sticks are a great way to hold a piece down instead of using your finger...no more burns from the tip!
- A blow dryer works well. Also as you pull the gun away use cheese cloth...it loves to attach to cheese cloth.
- I always have a toothpick handy to pick up the string things when working with glue gun or hot glue pot!! Yeah, it is icky and makes a mess if you don't take care with it. one thing is to stop pulling the trigger before you get ready to quit applying glue! that way you don't get so much stringing from it still running out of the nozzle.
