How to use a glue gun?

Ok it's my first time trying to use this thing, I'm sure it's very easy but I am trying to insert the glue stick into the gun and it doesn't seem to be going in all the way, does it go in all the way? help

1. You have to be very careful as you could burn yourself when using a glue gun. Do you have the correct size glue stick. The glue stick will melt down into the holder as you start gluing your profect.
2. You have to wait until the heat melts the glue stick a little bit and give it time to slide in on its own.. don't force it (LMAO!! that sounds sooo wrong!!) Oh and make sure the glue stick is the right size as well.. thats about it.. Good Luck! *Happy Holidays*
3. You have to wait for the heat to melt it a little and remember to apply a little pressure on the glue stick while you are using it. Good luck.
4. if your type of glue has ridges in then make sure they face top to bottom
