Gluesticks

How do i clean Glue off of a CD face?

Well what happen was the cd was in the car and it was one of those card board cd cases and well the car got hot parked in the sun and well melted the glue holding the case together, causing the cds to slide down. And the car cooled down before i found it so now the glue is dry. Of course the cds are originals and only a few days old. i have the cds out of the case, but they don't play right due to the glue. being originals i don't want to damage the face of the cds, so any ideas? that work! Thanks Heaps

  1. I would first try soaking them in hot water. If that doesn't work try applying peanut oil or vegetable oil and rub it in with your fingers. Definitely do not use chemicals. I'd have to know what type of glue it is to be certain.
  2. I would try rubbing Alcohol on a cotton ball to get it going and peel what I could and revisit the stubborn areas with the cotton. If worse comes to worse, do you have your receipts? As long as you are doing an exchange, many places will honor a return.
  3. Try some rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball.
  4. Try a product called goo gone. Blockbuster uses it to clean their dvds and games, and it wont damage the cds.
