what is a good glue i can use to paste the lid of my teapot back together?

i use my teapot everyday, so i need a glue that wont melt and contaminate the tea due to heat from the hot water. Thanks!

  2. I have never found a glue that would make a good dependable joint for pottery, due to the repeated heating and cooling during use. If it's only ornamental, just use a good superglue, and hope for the best.
  3. I use Gorilla glue when I can. It works great but there is one thing you need to remember when using it. It expands when drying and takes about 4 hours to fully dry. So when it's drying, you need to have clamps on it to keep the material together. Now, in this situation, it may not be perfect for the teapost lid (material unknown??) or high heat. You may want to look at the Gorilla Super Glue because it works up to about 200 - 220 degree F and constant exposure to warm water will likely make it weaker. If it doesn't work out for you, keep in mind the Gorilla glue. I use it more often than "Crazy Glue" and it's proven to last.
