How do you take apart a plastic model horse without breaking it?
I have tried soaking it in hot water to melt the glue but that doesn't seem to be the problem. It is attached inside with little plastic prongs. I want to get it apart to re-hair it. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone for your great answers!

- i suggest you use a pincher thing and slowly pull out the prongs sorry but i have never done anything like that but.. thats my idea ;)
- I would try very gently prying it apart with a small screwdriver. But don't force it as it may break the prongs holding it together. Or try this, if you have nail polish remover use a small Q tip and apply it to the glued areas. This should dissolve the glue enough that you can pull it apart. I hope I helped in a small way.
- I hate to tell you this but the little plastic prongs are most likely glued with a plastic glue and they are now the strongest part of the model. There are ways to disassemble it but it will mess up the re hair part of the project. Here's what I would do. If you can get to the prongs you can cut them and then separate the parts. When you're ready to reassemble lightly sand the area where the prongs where and reglue. It wont be quite as strong but it will hold. If when the prongs are cut they can't be reglued you could add additional plastic strips on each half and glue to that. Wrap the model in some tape to hold when you reglue. Good luck and I hope this helps.
