Gluesticks

how do you glue ribbon to metal?

I've tried craft glue and hot glue and it doesn't stick. I've tried scuffing the metal with sandpaper and it didn't work either. thanks,Cristy A.

  1. if hot glue dont work... try rubber cement. it always does the trick. if it dont do the trick i dont know what to tell u but rubber cement normaly does the trick u just have to have a well ventalated area and u may need to put something heavy on it to get it to stick to begin with. but thats normal with alot of different things
  2. You need a glue that adheres a porous surface to a non porous surface like Goop, E6000, plumbers or marine glue. You can find them at the craft stores, but they are cheaper at the hardware stores. Just check the back of the tube and you'll see something like "bonds porous to non-porus sufaces" and it will work.
  3. Try Epoxy. You can get it at most stores, it can dry clear, and it will stick to anything. Choose a formula which will not harden too quickly.
  4. Try impact adhesive, coat both surfaces, leave for 15 minutes then put both pieces together, strengthens over 24 hours.
