Gluesticks

How can I glue those little fuzzy balls onto metal?

I have to make a model of an atom, and I need to glue some of those little fuzzy balls for the protons/electrons/neutrons onto metal rings as the orbitals. I tried regular school glue, but that did not work. Would a GLUE GUN be more effective?

  1. Glue Guns provide great adhesion becuz they use HEAT--if you're pompoms are made of an acrylic material, they could melt where the glue touches. What about Elmer's white glue--the traditional stuff? If you use a good dollop of that, it's like, the universal glue, & should work if your background can remain flat until everything dries.
  2. I think a glue gun would be your best bet. If you do use it, warm the metal ring by holding the tip of the gun on it for a few seconds. If the metal is cold the glue won't stick to it as well.
  3. Yes a glue gun is great for that sort of stuff
  4. Yes you can try hot glue. I would recommend Liquid Fusion. It will glue the little fuzzy pom poms to the metal. You read about it at www.duncancrafts.com
