Hair extensions: can I thermal bond a weft?

A friend has been helping me apply cold bonded hair extension wefts to my head. While I LOVE the way they look, they just aren't meant to last long. Shampoo and natural scalp oils loosen the bonds, and it's just a vicious cycle. Is it possible to use keratin glue sticks with a hot glue gun to apply it to a weft and attach near my roots?

1. I don`t know anything about what kind of glue or wefts, but I can tell you this..........every time you glue on hair you are damaging your own. The best way is sewing your extensions in your own hair. I know that's not what you asked but I was just giving you something to think about.;o)
